What's next?

Now that The Academy Awards are over, I feel like there is nothing left to look forward to until next years Oscars. But when one award season ends, the start of another is not far behind. And like I said, I don't just love the Oscars, I love all awards shows and the award season.

Even though the 2014 Oscars were less than two weeks ago, preparations for the 2015 Oscars have already begun and predications for the awards have already started. Each year we watch the award season and the Oscars and we watch it propel an actors or actresses career forward. The next year we watch the winners and expect great things from them. We also critique this years shows to see how they can improve for next year, which I'm sure we all have very different opinions about. I'm sure with just about everything in life, the producers can't make everyone happy.

Since I wasn't very entertained during this years awards, next year, they better pull out all the stops to impress me, after all, I am their biggest fan!

After The Oscars

So now that the oscars are over, what did every one think of the winners?! Well I have one word for you, predictable! I had all the winners pegged down, next year I should put money down on the awards. The award I was most anxious to see given out was Actor in a Leading Role. After seeing Dallas Buyers Club I was 100 per cent convinced that Matthew McConaughey deserved the statue for his performance.

So how did Ellen DeGeneres do? The short answer, she did well. She had a solid opening monologue, funny jokes throughout the night, without going over the line, and while some bits went on a little long for my liking (the pizza bit), the group shot that Ellen posted on Twitter was one of the best parts of the night.

One of my biggest problems with this years Oscars is that it didn't have the big excitement shows in that past have. There was no big opening number and while there was signing throughout the show, it wasn't very exciting, it usually just consisted of the artist standing in one place and singing. I also found that the camera work was very sloppy and the lead ins and outs were very choppy.

What surprised me about this years Academy Awards was that I liked all the fashion! There was nothing that was particularly disastrous, nothing that made me cringe. Lots of pastels, reds, blacks, whites (mostly the men), and shiny!

Now that the 86th Academy Awards are over, they are no doubt already working on next years awards. The Academy has already announced that the 87th Academy Awards will be held February 22, 2015 at the Dolby Theatre. Only 352 days to go!
